Dear Delegates,

The passion for teaching post-graduates combined with the enthusiasm to exchange knowledge and to keep pace with current trends in anaesthesiology led to the launch of RACE – Ramachandra Anaesthesia Continuing Education in 1999 under the vision, inspiration and guidance of our late Prof. Dr Vijaylakshmi Kamat and Prof. Dr Mahesh Vakamudi. Furthermore, the cooperation, unconditional support and encouragement from our beloved Chancellor and the management of SRIHER have led us to achieve the successful silver jubilee milestone, the 25th year of RACE.

What started as a small program for about 200 delegates in the year 2000 has transformed today into an academic three-day festival of more than 1000 people from all over the country and the world. This silver jubilee, as we celebrate the milestone of 25 years of RACE, we feel humbled by your response and feel incredibly responsible for ensuring that we provide you with the very best experience journeying through the world of anaesthesiology and imprint valuable take-home messages in your minds.

Our scientific program draws strength from foundational basics in anaesthesiology and recent advances. It celebrates the acquisition of clinical acumen through contributions from seasoned experts who have chartered through various challenges in this field. We cover the entire spectrum of anaesthesia, from basic sciences to recent advances, through a diverse array of lectures, ‘How I do it’ Sessions, Focus Sessions, Video sessions, SNAP Sessions, Case Discussions and Workshops.

Our invited faculty are eminent faculty, stalwarts and pioneers in anaesthesiology who come from all over India and around the world to share their knowledge and contribute to the success of RACE every year. This program is not an extension of another university class, but aims to inculcate and inspire lifelong learning and keep the academic interest and passion kindled as anaesthesiology residents evolve and construct their careers.

The entire department of Anaesthesiology at SRIHER treats this CME programme like a family function. Everyone from the senior most professor to the junior most postgraduate pitches in with dedicated commitment and invaluable inputs and deserves the lion's share of the credit for forming the cornerstone of this conference.
